- The Facts: The Patience Song, written by Dr. Crystal Bowe and illustrated by Mike Motz, published in the USA 2018, 30 pages.
- Summary: The Patience Song is a story of a little girl who struggles with patience. Each time she comes up against something that tests her patience, her parents teach her to cope with the situation by singing a little song to her. The little girl becomes so good at being patient, she is able to turn the tables on her parents when their patience is tested. Nice twist! This book is ideal for children aged 5-10 years old, grades K-3, and could be read to younger children as a good bed time story that could be revisited time and again.
- The Review: I was so excited to receive this book because patience can be a struggle in our household. Many of the scenarios presented in the book happen with regularity with our children and I imagine most young children. Thankfully struggling with patience is not uncommon for young and school-aged children and this book was wonderful in helping us find another way to help our children cope with situations that require them to exercise patience. Bonus: The song is cute and easy to learn, and you can easily insert words for any situation your child may face into the song and make it work.
